Q: Do you serve as Master of Ceremonies or are you just there to play music?
up
A: Many DJ’s view their total
responsibility as showing up and playing music.
I go far beyond that. Not only will I help you to plan your
event in advance, but I’ll also coordinate the event. And I
am delighted to emcee your
event as appropriate. I’ll happily handle all of the details
so that you don’t have to worry about choreographing
everything as it happens. You can relax and enjoy the
day/evening along with your guests!
Q: If I want a song that you do not have, will you play it from my own CD?
up
A: Yes! I am delighted to play your
CD’s when I don’t have a song you’d like played, and return
them to you after the event. Most often, this situation
arises
when you want some type of obscure song or particular ethnic
music that I don’t have in my 20,000+ song music library. If
you have particular music selections
you would like to have played I can have them available the
day of your event so long as I know the title and artist
about one week in advance.
Q: Will you do more than just play music?
up
A: The success of most events involves
more than just playing music. It is important to have a DJ
who is capable, not just of playing music, but also to
assist in the
coordination of the event. This is where SoundSations has a
major advantage, since this is my specialty. Because I meet
personally with you prior to your event,
I am already familiar with the agenda because I helped you
put it together. And I am right there to ensure that
everything goes as planned.
Q: Will you provide cocktail or dinner music?
up
A: Absolutely. Oftentimes, your event
can be greatly enhanced with background music, before actual
dancing takes place. I offer a large variety of
easy-listening music for your guests’ enjoyment.
Q: Will you need anything to setup your equipment?
up
A: Yes. I require the use of a single
eight-foot table. Usually, the client coordinates with the
building/facility manager to provide a table for me. BUT, I
have my own table and you simply have to ask me to bring it
(at no extra cost to you). I require an outlet within 25
feet of the setup area.
Q: Do you have lighting available? up
A: Yes! Lighting makes any event more
exciting and memorable. Most of my DJ Packages include
lighting free of charge.
Q: Do you have professional equipment? up
A: Yes! All of our sound and lighting
equipment is "commercial grade" professional equipment,
designed for use by mobile DJ’s. This is very important! I
am constantly amazed by stories I hear of DJ’s bringing in
home stereo equipment, lousy lighting, and a shoebox full of
cassette tapes. I run a digital show through a computer as
well as utilizing CD's.
Q: Do you provide a wireless microphone for toasts or announcements?
up
A: I always have a wireless mic on
hand for you to use (at no extra charge). If you need more
than one microphone just let me know in advance and I can do
that.
Q: What kind of light show do you offer? up
A: Lights can greatly enhance your
event. I have two (2) light trees that contain four (4)
colored par cans (150 Watt Flood Lamps) each. The lights
respond to the beat of the music. In addition, I bring the
classic mirror ball with a white pinspot light. I also have
an Avenger II, Vertigo and Mini Line Dancer that all react
to the beat of the music and and are colorful.
Q: Do you have a "real" job? up
A: Yes. DJing is my REAL job. I do it
full-time. I do not moonlight and I don't do this as a hobby
or "side-thing". I don't just DJ on weekends. Does being
full-time mean I am better than those part-time DJs? No. But
it is kind of presumptuous to ignore the fact that I am in
the minority and that I can comfortably live off a career I
am so passionate about.
Q: Can I meet personally with you before making my decision? up
A: Absolutely! I can meet with you by
appointment at your convenience (day or night, weekdays or
weekends) -- At my home office, your office, your home, your
event site, or at a convenient coffee shop or other
food/beverage establishment. I understand that it may be the
first time in your life that you are booking a DJ. I want
you to be able to make an informed decision about your
entertainment, because that will be the most remembered part
of your wedding, corporate affair, or private party. That is
why I will meet with YOU free of charge and with NO
obligation. I want to provide you accurate information and
to show you what I offer in terms of personal service, in a
casual and friendly way. You are welcome to call or email me
for an appointment!
Q: Do you do special dances, games, skits, or activities? up
A: Yes. As a matter of fact, my unique
talent of entertaining (not just playing good music) has
attracted numerous referrals. I can demonstrate popular line
dances. I read the crowd and gracefully give guests
instruction when needed. If the client requests it, I
provide props for guests. It is not uncommon for me to toss
out fun hats, sunglasses, inflatable guitars, and so on. The
client has the option of purchasing small or large
quantities of props or party supplies for their event.
Q: What attire do you dress in for the occasion? up
A: Weddings: Tuxedo and formal dress,
unless specified otherwise.
Corporate Parties: Shirt and tie and formal dress, unless
specified otherwise.
Other Events: Client specifications.
Q: Do you take breaks?
up
A: No. Unlike a band, I play music
continuously (nonstop).
I will stop music for the following reasons: the client
requests it,
a special activity is taking place, or I need to get the
attention of the audience.
Q: Do you take requests? up
A: Of course! We use the song list we send to you
prior to the event for song ideas. Then we introduce
ourselves to everyone throughout the evening to ensure you
and your guests will hear and dance to the chosen requests.
Q: What time do you arrive to set up? up
A: We promise to show up at least one hour prior to
starting your event. If your services require us to bring
another sound system, we will be there at least 1.5 hours
prior to the event. For all events, we usually show up
earlier as we account for traffic.
Q: How far in advance should I book your service? up
A: Typically, clients book/hire disc jockey services
six to nine months for weddings and it varies for other
events. Availability may be limited however, we suggest you
book/hire disc jockey services early. Remember, March,
April, May, September, October and November are very busy
bridal months. December marks corporate holiday parties.
Q: I see you offer Props. How can I buy my own? up
A: You can purchase your own Props for all your own uses through our Party Supply Store. Click on the banner below to begin searching.
